Green Building Basics and LEED

This course is intended for those who are new to green building and looking to learn the basics of green building and LEED. The course offers an introduction to USGBC, green building principles and the fundamentals of the LEED Rating System.

This course is intended for anyone who wants more than a basic understanding of LEED – including those with a stake in their company’s or community’s building practices, those directly involved in green building projects, and those pursuing GBCI’s LEED Green Associate credential.

Understanding the Building Design + Construction LEED Rating Systems

- LEED AP BD+C exam
Gain essential knowledge of the LEED BD+C rating systems, including credit intents, requirements, and referenced standards;synergies among credits; and foundations of the LEED certification process. This course provides a foundation for pursuing the LEED AP BD+C exam.
Course Prerequisites: General green building knowledge. It is also recommended that you have completed the LEED201 course
Course 4
Implementing the BuildingDesign + Construction LEED Rating System
- GBCI CE Hours: 7
Learn how to apply the LEED BD+C rating systems, with LEED for New Construction as the focus, by walking through the phases and keydecision points of a typical project. Engage with experienced LEED Faculty and other participants to work hands-on with LEED implementation strategies and rating system tools.
Course Prerequisites: Knowledge of the LEED BD+C rating systems. It is also recommended that you have attended the BD+C 251 in-person course or the BD+C 252 online training.
Objectives – Upon successfully completing this webinar series, you should be able to:
- Explain unique aspects of the LEED 2009 for New Construction and Major Renovations rating system
- Apply and facilitate the LEED process with stakeholders
- Apply LEED tools to a new construction or major renovation project
